Do you ever think, "It would be nice to give my horse shoes of different colors?" If so, now you have a choice. Happy HoofWear has a whole rainbow of colors to choose from.
Happy HoofWear™ shoes are made out of polyurethane and are 15mm thick instead of the 10mm thickness which the steel horseshoes are. Polyurethane is a very flexible material which according to experts, is better for the health of your horse’s hoof as it has some "give" compared to the steel shoes.
Currently these shoes come in front shoes only, with option of Regular or Extended style. Unlike the steel shoes, Happy HoofWear™ shoes do not have pre-drilled holes for nails. This gives farrier the option to choose where to place the nails. The shoe has a slanted nail bed, which enables you to place nails below the shoe surface.
Your farrier does not need any special tools or equipment and can use regular nails on these shoes. Due to the shoe material, farriers can simply use a rasp and file the shoe to fit the hoof, instead of having to use a hammer and anvil as is the case with steel shoes.
Currently Happy HoofWear™ shoes come in six different colors:
- Powerful Pink
- Totally Turquoise
- Lighting Lime
- Perfect Purple
- Outrageous Orange
- Classic Clear
The price of Happy HoofWare™ shoes is $10/pair, which is quite affordable. Steel shoes run about $5/pair and aluminum shoes are $9 and up.

Hey now that IS cool! Are they legal in shows, I wonder? They look really neat and much safer than metal shoes due to the give and flexibility, but with the same advantage regular shoes provide. Awesome article!

I'd love to get Jackie the pink ones. I think they're worth the money, especially since they're gonna last longer than regular horseshoes. =)

No offence but the things in the front and back of the horseshoes can hurt the horse and i looked at the photos, they dont take them off.My mom looked and said that she doesnt want the horses wearing things that could hurt them.
