Most people own at least one horse model. Most people don’t have a blanket for that horse model. There are many advantages to having a personalized blanket. For example, getting a higher score in a model show because no one else will ever have a blanket like it. There are four or five steps to making a horse model blanket, depending on if personalization is added or not.
The very first things needed are the materials: fabric, a dark marker, fabric scissors, string, two perler beads, a horse model, and if needed, sticks of glitter glue. Next is cutting the fabric. This is where fabric scissors are needed. First, cut a rectangle out of the fabric. Then cut a U shape out of one of the shorter ends of the fabric. The fabric on the sides of the U shape will be for going around the model’s neck.
To fit the blanket to the horse, first put the U around the model’s neck so that they meet at the model’s chest. In the center of the fabric around the chest, put a dot with the marker. After that, push a hole through the dots with scissors. To keep it on the model, the string is needed. First, tie a double knot at the bottom of the string. Push one of the perler beads down the string to the knot. Then slide the end of the string through the hole on the back of the back flap and then through the back of the front flap. Now push the other bead down the string until it touches the fabric. Then tie a double knot up against the bead.
To personalize the blanket, use the glitter glue. Write the model’s name on the side. Make up some sponsors or use real sponsors and put their abbreviation on the blanket. For example, AQHA for Quarter Horses. Maybe even add some decorations like spirals and shapes. Make the blanket unique.
Easy, right? The best part is getting to show off the new blanket. No one will ever have anything like it, unless they cheat and copy the idea. The blankets are easily taken off and fixed. Horse model blanket making has never been easier. |

It isn't the best blanket, but it can be pretty cool. I used this in English for a speaking demo. XD

I've done knitted blankets before, for my models, but never yet sewn one like that. Maybe I'll try it. :)
