Ponyads.com Horse Domain Name for Sale

If you have ever tried registering a domain name then you know how difficult it is to find any good names left. Godaddy.com charges $10 to register each domain name, but you will have to be creative when finding a name since most of the good ones were taken years ago.
Horse Domain Name website

I started buying domain names over a decade ago, not because I thought they would have a monetary value in the future, but I actually envisioned creating websites for each domain name I registered. Believe me, if I knew what I know now I would have grabbed up a lot of good names back in the 90's and sold them for a nice profit over the years.

I currently own about 30 domain names and most of them are horse or equestrian related. I don't really know why I have been holding on to them so long, I originally had an idea for each horse domain name I registered, but I just don't have the time or energy to devote to these projects.

I decided to see what they are worth and place a few on Ebay. I started with ponyads.com and ponyads.net. I listed them together on Ebay for a starting bid of $12,000. I have never sold a domain name and honestly don't know if this is the proper venue, but we will see what happens. I know ponyads.com would be an excellent domain name for a company that sells horses, especially since it is easy to remember and brand. Why did I list it for $12,000? This is what it would take me to part with it since I have no problems holding on to it for another 10 years.

You can follow the auction using the widget to the left and see how it goes or you can view it directly on Ebay here. Do I expect it to sell? I'm certain this domain name has a value above zero, the problem with auctions like this is the value is solely based on how much someone is willing to pay. If the right equestrian business notices this auction they may find the price very attractive. We shall see.

We learned how hard it is to start a business and register a name. We had to be sure to choose a name that was no one has used. Now we are looking into getting two more names. One to use for our farm products and one to set aside in case we need to split the current company in the future.

That's right Contrary, what adds to the value of domain names is that only 1 of each domain name exists in the world and once you own it knowbody else can use it unless you sell it to them.

Good luck Jeff! I've sold a few nice domains in the past. Nothing over 5k though, so 12k would be a GREAT profit! And it's a good name, to boot!

How much did you end up getting for it? When I first viewed this article, I was curious as to how much it would sell for, however I never got around to viewing it once it ended.

Dream Holidays on Horseback It seems like it's been winter for about ten years now. I'm trying to remember if I've stumbled through the back of a wardrobe and ended up in Narnia. Right now, a holiday on horseback in a warm place sounds just about right. I've been dreaming about the possibilities, . . .

16 October 2010 Provincial Junior Showjumping Championships - Part 1 The show began in a somewhat comical fashion. We arrived, uncharacteristically early. I was nervous, uncharacteristically nervous. And so it was that, during an attack of nerves, I decided that I should make a quick trip . . .
Moonfire - Fixing a Rearing Problem - Part 2 I did my best to avoid the instances that encouraged rearing – but if you look above, you’ll see that it’s quite a list, and that there are many aspects that you just CAN’T avoid when riding a competitive horse. The main . . .
Trick Training - Teach Your Horse to Kiss When asking your horse to kiss, always be aware that horses are big animals, and to have a horse’s head anywhere near your face can be dangerous. Always be ready to back away in case he moves his head too suddenly. And, . . .
Against All Odds - The Story of Bronze - Part 2 Suddenly, from amongst the herd of stallions, one came charging toward me. He was a huge, bright bay creature – standing at least a hand over any of the others, and double the size of most in bulk. He hardly seemed like . . .

Saddle Up Series - Understanding Your Horse's Back - Part Four As mentioned before, back pain in horses is shockingly common; in fact most horses – even the soundest of them – are likely to be experiencing at least a small degree of back pain simply from the strain of hard work. The . . .
Crazy Stunts with Olop - Jumping Backwards - Part 3 What was my revolutionary idea, you ask? Well, it came to me one day when I was riding with a friend, without the supervision of either my mother or my instructor, as usual. I decided that if I was going to try riding ba . . .
The Impossible - The Story of Choc - Part 3 To me, putting Choc down was never an option. For a horse so full of life, and so eager and ready to take on her next challenge and fight to keep living, it would just be wrong to take away that chance. This, of course, . . .
National Junior Championships – Part Four It was the day after the cross country, and though the weather had improved slightly, the sky was still smothered with clouds – which looked about fit to burst with rain. As usual, we arrived at the show grounds early . . .
Choosing a Horse What would be the point of having that lovely skewbald if it is trained in barrel racing and you want to be dressage? Why get that first horse you see if you want to do showing and it has cow hocks and an ewe-neck? Would . . .
