What if our horse is imaginary?

What would you do if you sold your horse in real life? Would you still "own" that horse on the website?

@Pervelski - At this time the world ranking system is for real horses only.

@Fantasy Farms - You will still own the page with the stats you entered for the horse unless you transfer it to the new owner or the new owner can create a new page for the horse.

This sounds really cool! I'm doing some schooling shows with my Thoroughbred gelding this summer, so I'm excited for the release of the website =]

Will there be a setting where you can compare yourself to people in your own age group? :]

Love the idea but won't people cheat and say they have won somthing hudge when they haven't will they lie?

This sounds great! :D I'm looking forward to seeing how it will work. :) It must have been incredibly complex to design! O.O Well, time to get that super-horse of mine sound again. :P I am really looking forward to this!

@Kiwi - At this time we are not filtering results by age or other criteria, but in the future this may be an option.

@holls - We have included features to limit cheating. In fact if you look at the image above it has a validity score for the event. If you get caught entering false information it will have sever effects on your rank.

@Polo the Weirdo - It was fairly complicated, but we are excited to get this easy to use ranking system online. We hope this will become a gold standard for getting an idea of how your horse ranks with others around the world. We also began programming a value estimate that would give you a rough estimate of the value of your horse, but this proved to difficult since a large portion of the horses value is determined by its lineage.

I like the value estimate idea! It would be useful for a lot of performance horses!

It sounds like a fantastic idea don't get me wrong, however im still curious how your going to rank different competitions and levels against eachother. You have mentioned "a complex algorithm" but what does that algorithm actually do?

@Miss Paradox - We are going to keep the algorithm a secret so that we use to rank horses. If we published the formula for ranking horses then it would be easier for owners to cheat.
