Mythical Horse Puzzle App Fascinates For Hours
 By PonyWriter   •   6th Jul 2011   •   2,787 views   •   13 comments
Mythical Horse Puzzle is an app available for free for smartphones designed by kidapps.us. It starts out very simply with just two pieces that are scrambled and gets more difficult as you progress. By the time you reach level 30 (which you will do if you have the time because the game is addictive!), you are working with 36 pieces. You move the pieces to rearrange the puzzle by touching them and dragging them to where you would like for them to be and when you finish the puzzle, you just touch the picture to move to the next one.

Horse Game AppThe puzzle pictures are extremely vivid and well-done, including such scenes as unicorns lying in a field of purple flowers, Pegasus rearing on a cliff in a lightening storm and sci-fi horses that are trailing fire. The artwork is amazing in every pic and they are different enough that you don't get bored when you're playing.

There is a “peek” feature included so that if you get stuck you can just touch “preview” to see what the finished puzzle is supposed to look like. This comes in especially handy once you get to the higher levels because some of the puzzles are so wildly colored that it's difficult to guess what the finished picture is going to look like.

The game also keeps it challenging by keeping track of both how many moves and how long it takes for you to complete the puzzle and includes a high score feature. There are also options to “like” the game and share it and you can opt to turn the sound on or off. Finally, one of the cooler features that the game has is that it gives you the option of either starting a new game or continuing with the old one where you left off even if you close the app.

All in all, a very cool game that is simple enough for younger people but challenging and visually engaging enough to keep adults entertained. The app ran perfectly on a droid and the sounds weren't annoying even though there were other people sitting in the room while they were on. This app really should come with an addiction warning because once you start playing it, you can't put your phone down!

The Dulmen Horses of Germany   4th Jan 2014   •   604 views
The Dulmen Horses of Germany When we think of wild horses, we probably picture Mustangs. However, pockets of wild horses, or more correctly, feral horses live in other parts of the world. One such population are the Dülmen Ponies. These hardy, primitive looking ponies live in a nature reserve where they survive with little interference or aid from humans. The wild population is quite sm . . .

2014 is the Year of the Horse   31st Dec 2013   •   773 views
2014 is the Year of the Horse Good-bye 2013 and farewell to the year of the snake. The Chinese zodiac is based on a twelve-year cycle, with each year represented by an animal. 2013 was the year of the water snake. For some of us, 2013 may have been a bumpy ride, and it might have been the 'snake' influence that caused that. Things may get smoother though, as we enter the year of the hors . . .

Cyber Bullying - There Are No Consequences We all know how harmful bullying can be in real life. Correct me if I’m wrong, but... Isn't that the reason a whole lot of us are escaping here to the Internet in the first place? Don’t look at me like that, you know I’m . . .
Not Making This Up - Why I Don't Wear Makeup To The Barn I recently noticed this magnificent article pop up on Ponybox asking whether or not I wear makeup to the barn. I don’t see that it’s any of the article’s business, but I’m going to answer the question anyway. I do not, a . . .

National Junior Championships – Part Three In a pathetic lapse of concentration that I am still kicking myself for, I went ahead and ‘showjumped’ the fence – getting my weight off his back and leaning forwards, rather than keeping my seat in the saddle and leanin . . .

Flatwork for Showjumping It may sound surprising to say, but ‘showjumping’ is actually not all about ‘jumping’. When faced with a big course of jumps, the horse’s physical jump can only take it so far. What matters is what happens between the ju . . .
Moonfire - Fixing a Rearing Problem - Sitting a Rear In the previous articles, we discussed Moony’s rearing problem, a rider’s usual approach to a rear, and how to correctly approach a rear. To sum up, when your horse rears, you do not want to make a big issue out of it – . . .
Against All Odds - The Story of Bronze - Part 1 So you all remember the stories of Polo, Choc and Finola, and I’m sure you’ve all been thinking "But what about Bronze? Doesn’t Bronze also deserve a story?" Yes, he does. This is a story I have been planning to write . . .
27 - 28 July Eventing Show - Part Two The next day was what we’d all been waiting for: Cross country. As a 90cm entry, Finola was first to go, and with air-cooled eventing boots on her legs and the rubber Pelham in her mouth, she warmed up like a spring-load . . .
16 October 2010 Provincial Junior Showjumping Championships - Part 2 This day started with Polo and Bronze each doing their speed classes. Polo started brilliantly, went around at a great pace and took all the tight corners I mapped out for her. She clipped a pole down on the tightest tur . . .
