Varsity is tough. I've got a few friends showing at KSU & OSU in the reining & horsemanship.
I don't know about other schools, but its a BIG deal at K State & Ok State. Most of their horses are donated & its a big deal if coaches scout you. There are 20-50 girls on the team, but maybe 5-10 consistently get to show.
I rode IHSA for 2 years & it was 100% worth it! If you get into varsity, GO FOR IT! I'm going to try out next school year. XD

I have a friend who just finished up with K-State and she was team captain for reining. They've now offered her a coaching position.
I love just how competitive it is! I just sent off an email to the NCEA office so hopefully I can get some more info tha t way too!

Just be sure to get your info in early if you want a shot. I know that there were no walk on tryouts at KSU last year (I don't think there are any this year) because their team was full
