When more moderators are in need, I believe Deja chooses those who are more suitable to the job. :)

So she just randomly chooses them on their behavior etc?
yeah she said that in a post
I never seen it
do you get payed for it?
@Apehlion - Correct. It's usually during site expansion and such.
@ Parkridge - "Randomly" isn't quite right. I mean, she considers it for a long time, watches us, etc. She has people that she think are good candidates and know there way around Ponybox as well as being able to help others. Mods are usually adults, as they are mature. There are only...two exceptions to that, I think.
@ Shimmer - HAHAHAHAHA No. It's a volunteer job.
Any other questions?

I have one I've always been curious about, since we're on the subject :)
Does the amount of time someone has been playing affect who gets chosen to be a mod?
ummmmmmmm it had sticky gum on and is it fun being a mod
I mean, obviously someone who is online a lot knows the game fairly well, but I don't think it plays THAT much of a factor.
I mean, I am not really online as much, and this is a game, which means it's not at the top of my to do.
However, to answer that completely you would need to get into Deja's brain. Which I don't suggest.

@Stars -- Sometimes it can be fun, but most of the time you have a magnifying glass on you and people judging you all the time. It also gives us a certain level of responsibility, which means we have to keep our own shenanigans in check and can't speak as flippantly as we used to. You also get a lot of people who make it their life goal to be a pain in your neck.
At the same time, a few of us have struck up quite a camaraderie. Mostly because we understand each other and what is happening, haha.

I couldn't imagine it being easy at all.
I think it'd be more stressful than anything else.

Thank you Antebellum! (:

One more question-can mod status be terminated?
@ Cross -- Haha, yeah, sometimes. For the first year I took everything rather personally (as at the time I had some exterior things that made me a little more emotionally unstable), but after that I really just ignored most of the hate. Once you stop sweating the small stuff, it got easier. Like, I began to realize that I cannot make everyone happy, it that not everyone will love me.
And then I began to pursue a politics/history degree and everything went downhill, because now its REALLY hard to get me upset or mess with me, which is nice.
@ Storm - Yes, but I don't think that has ever happened. I mean, sometimes people will ask to no longer be a mod, simply because they don't have time or other personal reasons. However, Deja is pretty good at picking mods, so they are usually all pretty good. Again, most of us are adults, so we are used to real life situations and know how to take a step back. :)

Storm Surge- I'm pretty sure they can be if they do something that Deja doesn't like. That would be my best bet (:

** small correction/information point.
Deja picks mods, as well as some of the other admin. From what I gather it's mostly Deja's decision, but other admin are involved. :)

No problem and you're welcome. (I missed the thank you, haha.)
Most of us honestly don't mind answering questions (as long as they are asked nicely), and it keeps you guys from jumping to odd conclusions. Haha.

Haha I can imagine rudeness as being a problem when getting asked something.

It's not as bad as you would think, as the vast majority of you are actually pretty awesome (I'll even go on a limb and say about 99% of you), but you get the one person who has to be a nudge about things, and doesn't know how to say things nicely. Haha.

Congratulations, that would be useful!
(If you become Prime Minister, don't turn out like Julia, I'm still living Kevin 07)
Unfortunately a lot of people still aren't aware that the internet isn't a nice place and you need a thick skin to get by if you're going to be using it to socialize, we have it good on PB compared to other sites.

@ Cross - 'Murican luff. Haha. Erin for President, 2032.
I think Mesty called the campaign #potatoforpresident or something crazy though.
And oh yeah, you guys have it nice here.
I know sites were people are nastier and such. PB is kind of like a safe little bubble (which is what we are trying to preserve). Haha.

After having others ask questions too, I'm kind of glad I asked! I've been on here almost 6 years, and never knew!
I have no life, and do online high school, so I'm on ponybox a little too much.. I'm just trying to learn some more, so thank you (:

Huh, that's pretty cool then. I'd think it'll be a little more, but kind of glad it's not haha

See everyone, Ponybox is for everyone.
I'm a PhD Candidate who has no life simply because she has no time, therefore Ponybox.
I'm glad you guys asked, I seriously don't bite.
And I am glad most of you don't either, LOL.

Haha Antebellum, I live on a horse farm, but between chores and school, there's nothing to do. Especially with online school, so I don't have many friends to talk to. So what do I do? Raise pixel ponies. What a lovely story to tell my children! (;

Alot of mods dont even come online anymore!
But basically the owners of Ponybox pick them out when in need. :)

Speaking of, I think more mods would be useful considering how many have left or aren't online anymore. I don't know who I would choose if I were Deja, but I think 1-3 more would make the game a lot better off.
