This weekend we had another archery tournament. It was my bf, niece and I. We all shoot traditional bows and this shoot was a mixed shoot, which means compound shooters were also competing.
Despite running into my ex, which is not a good thing, he’s a bad bad man, I shot mybest score to date as did my niece!
Out of 8 women shooting in the women’s traditional division, my niece took 2nd place and I took 1st.
My bf, whom is back to shooting after an 11yr hiatus, placed 2nd in men’s traditional. He shattered his shoulder 11yrs ago and doc said there was a slim chance he’d ever shoot as well as he used to again. He is a former world champion in men’s longbow and men’s trad. He is an amazing teacher and mentor.
I am so proud of myself. Not only for shooting my highest score and winning my division, but for overcoming the panic and anxiety that was tiggered by seeing my ex again after 5yrs away from him.
Archery has become a new passion for me since riding has become so hard on my neck and back.
I love my longbow but the Brandon LeRoux recurve take down bow that my bf got me for Christmas is like an extension of myself. I call her Big Red.
