Nice horse. Glad to see you use a hackamore. Every horse I've had does better in the hack. I know what ya mean about the ears! Mine seems to have the same kind of perfect timing! Have fun, be safe.

ya i use a hackamore. when he was little, he wasn't trained properly, and we think he might have been abused because of how sensitive and scared he can be, any ways, lately he decided that he wouldn't let me put the bridle near his mouth, so i am using the hackamore. i figured that instead of scaring him and making take the bridle, it would be easier and more comfortable for him to use it.

for him the hackamore is waaaaaay easier. he's really sensitive. and the bridle scared him. he trusts me more with the hackamore. however the horse i had before Caspian i would have never put a hackamore on. he wouldn't have responded to it at all. i think that it depends on the horse whether a hackamore or a bridle would work better. i can ride Caspian around bareback with just his halter and he responds just like he had a bit in his mouth. i prefer using a hackamore over a bridle. i have a 2 year old i'm going to be working on this spring and i would love to eventually train her for a hackamore. but if she's not sensitive enough it probably won't work.
