Gaaah! He looks aaawesome. Your going to blow people away, and clean up the shows AGAIN this year, Capall. You two look really nice =] I always spread my arm's a little apart when I ride Guinness, but that's mainly because he's just starting up, and isn't very straight when he goes, so my trainer tells me to ride with my hands a bit apart xD But that's just Guinness, he's pretty...goofy xD

Man do you have an amazing little boy there. I hope Ellie turns out to be half of what he is! Which would be superstar! She was soo good for our ride yesterday, picked up her leads right away! =D How high have you jumped with him?

I'd watch your outside rein though, its okay to have an opening inside rein with inside leg to encourage the shoulder to move into your outside aids, but that outside rein has to be consistant so they go up and forward not down and out. Getting them to lift those shoulders is a hard thing, have you tried 4-5loop serpintines yet? That got Lus shoulders up really nicely :) ahhhh 4ft already! no way, you hit the jack pot with that boyy girl. You are such a lucky person, your once in a lifetime horse right there, congrats! And I know your enjoying him so I wont tell you to!

The reason I am doing that, is because I was sending him straight and lifting his shoulders. Aiding him. He competes in the Hunter Eq.

I think he looks fabulous!
Don't worry about the arms. Arms are sometimes like noodles, they have a mind of their own. XD
What kind of saddle pad is that? It seems really big and looks like its on his butt. lol Well I just realized his back was just super shiny so it made me think it was the saddle pad. xD

Okk I am super hyper, I'm going to shut up now. lol

Its a Pessoa AMO, and thats his butt. My arms have gotten better, when your training a green horse thats coming off injury sometimes a wide hand helps them to straighten..and with my leg asking him to lift and drive this is the end result. Then again..what would I know right?

I'll have to check it out. Yeah sometimes I like to keep my reins widercoming off barrels when we are going a bit slower. Just to make sure he keeps straight, rather than going crooked and adding time to the run.
Because you are the queen, you know everything. )

o.0 A queen? im afraid. The pessoa AMO on sale goes for 2500, which isnt bad.
Now I keep my hands closer because I can afford to, hes alot more balanced now.

oooo Capall you know your a queen :D Having your hands farther apart helps teach a horse to go forward and teach them to ride on contact. As Capall said, Joker getting back from a injury, he probally lost some of his strength. Its a great tool to help a horse out in a situation like that. Once you get that desired give at the poll you put your hands back to netural to not teach them to lean or pull. Capall is doing it the right way. A slight opening rein is also great to teach them to lift their shoulders.
