Well done for winning, however I would advice holding your reins in a show. You can get away with it at home providing you know the horse won't wander off, however at a show, things are different. It is an unfamiliar place, where anything could spook them. Also, if your horse did spook and you had no control, the other horses would also spook, or worse- you could go into them. Not only is thi dangerous for you and other riders, but no reasurance from the rider will only panic the horse even more, which could cause injuries.

You're using the reins in the other pics... But guys, if the horse freaked, she could just grab the reins. It's not that hard people! )

lol thanks! :) I mean I text on Stormy while on a side walk on a busy road, and Stormy is REALLY spooky. Yet I don't fall off. (I ride on the sidewalk when we have too, to get to a path that leads to trails). Not holding onto the reins is not dangerous.. Say not holding reins is dangerous like racing a horse is dangerous because your standing in the stirrups going fast. Both are dangerous and you could get hurt either way, but you really don't :/

Yep. Some horses just need to look good in their photos.. Also I have been meaning to ask. Is that a bridle on the saddle horn? Or what is that?

Folie A Deux
In western its totally different. If that was pleasure or something like that the horse wont move. So all the English riders need to get the facts straight before flipping out.

Mmm I ride english, always have. I like the look and style of western.. Please don't bag out one style of riding just because it isn't the right one for you. We all have our opinions but what you're saying 'lookamoose' isn't really nice at all. Mesha10 I don't see a problem with what you're doing in this photo, you know your horse more than anyone else. Congratulations.
