Before you get all flustered and start bagging me out for unsafe practises - I've raised this horse. She will be seven next month, she's incredibly bombproof and reliable. I know her inside and out. There were no distractions or anything to spook her around. It took me two quick strokes to pick the hoof and it was put back down in five seconds.
I am incredibly wary around horses (due to working with Thoroughbred yearlings and having psycho ponies as a kid), so rest assured if anyone would be cautious of picking a horse's feet out without a halter, it would be me!
