Look, I'm not putting my horse at risk, and the risks I take myself are my own decision. It's not like I just jumped on the horse and jumped her backwards - I built up to it, and taught myself a proper technique.
I'm looking into a career in stunt riding (Which will include things far more dangerous than this), because yeah, I like taking risks. It's what I do - and it's not up to you to tell me I'm being irresponsible. :) You're welcome to disagree, by all means, but don't go making it personal.

I tried it bareback, and it was nearly impossible. :P I need the stirrups to brace myself, otherwise I can't lean back properly... Don't get me wrong, I intend to master bareback backwards jumping at some stage - it's just much easier in a saddle. And I don't actually sit - I stand in my stirrups, and hold the cantle if I need to rebalance myself. :)

Galloping round a racetrack or a cross country course goes against all logic and is highly dangerous, but are you refusing to accept that? Or perhaps you just don't approve of what you can't do.
I can't do that either, but instead of pushing Polo down, I intend to look at her photo's and news article very carefully and pick up as many tips as I can so one day I will be in a position to do this. This girl is an incredible rider, learn from her rather than scold her.

Polo you are amazing! I learn so many things from you because we both share a common characteristic- taking risks! I have galloped my horse bareback before. I slowly worked my way up to it by first walking, stopping, and backing so me and my horse would become more comfortable, then when to a trot. When i decided to canter, i had my friend hook me to a lunge line so i could just worry about my balance. Soon enough, i was able to gallop! Ive worked my strength more, and practiced barrels, poles, keyhole, and others.
Spyricale: you can't change what some people do. Its our choice to trust our horse with all our hearts. If you decide not to take risks, then thats your choice. I love taking risks because i overcome not only fears around horses, but fears outside of horses.
