Jumping Polo over a 1,05m oxer backwards. :P

I wouldn't suggest trying this. Pointless, senseless and dangerous, really - but I do it anyway. Polo looks after me very well. ^_^

Haha The moment I saw this photo I knew it was you. Only the famous Polo would not have enough sense to know the front of the horse from the back! Haha
LOVE IT!

And my barn yelled at me for sitting on our fattest, laziest horse backwards for a few minutes. XD Awesome!

Pintie, Spy, I suppose you'd say the same of Rodrigo Pessoa, since he did the same thing? ^_^ In fact, that's where I got the idea.
Look, I'm not putting my horse at risk, and the risks I take myself are my own decision. It's not like I just jumped on the horse and jumped her backwards - I built up to it, and taught myself a proper technique.
I'm looking into a career in stunt riding (Which will include things far more dangerous than this), because yeah, I like taking risks. It's what I do - and it's not up to you to tell me I'm being irresponsible. :) You're welcome to disagree, by all means, but don't go making it personal.

Polo is doing nothing wrong.

All she is doing is not being uptight and BORING!

Some absolute NUTTERS would do this without a helmet....

Lovely Polo!

Isn't it uncomfortable sitting backward in a saddl? I thought it would be done bareback xD

I tried it bareback, and it was nearly impossible. :P I need the stirrups to brace myself, otherwise I can't lean back properly... Don't get me wrong, I intend to master bareback backwards jumping at some stage - it's just much easier in a saddle. And I don't actually sit - I stand in my stirrups, and hold the cantle if I need to rebalance myself. :)

Haha I LOVE Polo's expression: "Oh, dear. This again. Better not mess up or no oats for awhile." XD

Spyricale: Common sense and responsible logic might keep you happy and entertained, but it's not everyone's cup of tea. Galloping round a racetrack or a cross country course goes against all logic and is highly dangerous, but are you refusing to accept that? Or perhaps you just don't approve of what you can't do.
I can't do that either, but instead of pushing Polo down, I intend to look at her photo's and news article very carefully and pick up as many tips as I can so one day I will be in a position to do this. This girl is an incredible rider, learn from her rather than scold her.

Polo: That is incredible, you should be so proud of the bond you have with your horse.

Polo you are amazing! I learn so many things from you because we both share a common characteristic- taking risks! I have galloped my horse bareback before. I slowly worked my way up to it by first walking, stopping, and backing so me and my horse would become more comfortable, then when to a trot. When i decided to canter, i had my friend hook me to a lunge line so i could just worry about my balance. Soon enough, i was able to gallop! Ive worked my strength more, and practiced barrels, poles, keyhole, and others.

Spyricale: you can't change what some people do. Its our choice to trust our horse with all our hearts. If you decide not to take risks, then thats your choice. I love taking risks because i overcome not only fears around horses, but fears outside of horses.

Polo: You are amazing!

Wow, dont see why people should be hating, your horse you do what you want.. and if your trust is that strong that you can do something like this.. then go for it!! Well done to you both, just shows what a great team you are :D

I would not advise trying it. :P I promise you it's more difficult than it looks - I literally had to train myself for a couple of weeks to do it - you have to develop a completely new riding style.

Mooshy ish a Chicken
That is weird, I am teaching myself to ride like this xD I have gotten up to a canter but I haven't jumped like it yet but hey i've only done it 3 or 4 times so far!
But I was thinking I wonder if anyone else is crazy enough to try this in just a normal saddle so I thought I know i'll look at Polo's pictures aha :)
