Get breakaway halters on your horses if you MUST leave them on in the pasture, and for once, put the feed in an actual feeder and quit being so lazy.

Breakaway halters have a leather crown piece that allows the halter to easily break and come off when and if the horse gets caught on something. That is what responsible people who care about their horses use when said horses are turned out to pasture, paddock, etc.
Breakaway halters are just the same as web halters, and you would still be able to catch them just fine. Hmmm....I wonder why all of your horses are so hard to catch? How interesting. Tells you how much they "love" to work for you.
If they tip the feeder over, it's because they are not used to eating in a feeder. That's why you need to use them more so you can also avoid colic from them eating hay off of the ground.

Grass is different. It's rooted into the ground, and they tear and consume the surface of the grass.
You want to know why your horses are hard to catch? Because they never enjoy being around you or being worked by you. In Faith's case, because you are always causing her pain and discomfort. In Thunder's case, because you let an idiotic friend pull, yank, and haul him around a field so carelessly. They don't just "want to eat", they want to avoid uncomfortable and unpleasant situations, as I'm sure you would. My horses approach me enthusiastically, without me ever having food or treats, because they enjoy the bonding and training sessions that we share. Your horses do not seem "wild" to me at all. They definitely are not stupid. They know how to avoid pain and discomfort, and that is by avoiding you.

Your horses are well looked after Faith, they have regular food, water and shelter, a nice field/pasture/paddock and a human that loves them very much, sees you more than once a day.
They probably don't come in because they're not that hungry. They have grass, albeit sparse in the winter but if they're grazing all day and get hay and hard feed then they won't feel the need to run up when you call to them.
I like your multi coloured headcollar!

I don't see anything wrong with feeding hay from the ground, my Diego pulls his hay out, drops it, then eats it from the ground, no matter if it comes from a haynet or a bucket.
But I must agree with Spy about the halter. Regular halters can cause some serious damage if it gets caught on something, whereas a breakaway halter would simply break, thus possibly saving the horses life. I understand that it isn't always posible to leave a hard-to-catch horse out with no halter, but better to spend ages catching the horse than losing the horse, right?
Faith is stunning, you are very lucky. :)
