CMLLC- you can even see my feet and if they would go down anymore, they would slip out of the sturrips! And my horse needs control over jumps, she gets too excited.

I do have to say she is GORGEOUS I love her coloring!! shes like a mini version of Santa :D Hanging knees are dangerous, espically in XC since the jumps dont move. Seeing how there is a good foot (give or take) b/t the horse and jump its no worry at this level. If you move up I would consider doing gymnastics (espically bounces) to teach her to snap her knees, I just dont want her to rub a jump and fall.

do you have a trainer? Ask he/she about it. If not the Pony Club manuals have a decent introduction for gymnastics. Basically its a line of jumps where you trot in and canter out, normal ones allow for a stride b/t each jump. Bounces are where as soon as the horse lands it has to jump again, it teaches them to pick up their front legs fast and tuck them in nicely. it will also help give you confidence in letting her go for the release b/c they need their head and neck. Good side is they cant go anywhere to fast or crazy b/c the bounces slow them down and make them think.

I ride a POA named Dolly, with POAs you have to have a tight hold on them, they like to charge at fences. Its a POA thing. Lovely POA :D

All GS has to do is collect up on the reins and move her hands further up her neck, thats it, easy and simple. This way she doesnt have to move them too far to give a release but still holds contact and control. And you cant say POAs as a breed jump like that, my friend has 3 and they are the laziest ponies ever, its an individual characteristic of each horse, some rush some dont.

BHF-Angel does rush sometimes. But she doesn't over the 2 1/2 foot jumps lol :D

BHF- That is true, horses do need their heads over a jump, sometimes it just hard to give it to them when you hold them back so much. Dolly is a speed demon, if she does anything she wants to do it as fast as she can, she requires alot of holding back.

I don't know y people give comments like that. She is an excellint Rider. (By the way teddy got in a barn accident and had to be put down). But you look awesome riding your pony!!!!! :D
