I used to despise shooting after a certain time of day because as the light died the quality of my photos did, too. Now, after years of practise and some equipment upgrades, the end of the day is actually my favourite time to photograph! The light is so rich and there are so many colours to play with while editing.
This particular shot was at my second race meeting back behind the lens after New Zealand's lockdown ended. I took the shot with a lower f-stop than I usually would because I didn't want to lose any detail in the sky. Luckily with a decent camera a lot of the darker details in the foreground can be lifted when editing.
