I had my first horse show in five years on Sunday, August 1. I did the 2 foot hunter courses with Chili. It was my first time showing 2 foot. Chili was the only pony out of the 9 people that were in my classes.

Facts about me:
- Can jump up to 2'6
- Riding for 6 years

Facts about Chili:
- Can jump up to 2'6
- Hard to steer
- Very slow
- very Courageous

- My new Gr8 helmet (first time wearing)
- Kerrets riding pants
- Grey Show Jacket (borrowed from my instructor's daughter)
- Prince of Wales spur
- Black Ariat Paddock boots
- Back Soft Leather Ariat Half Chaps. (I was the only one in my class not wearing high boots, but like my instructor said "You can barely notice and wearing the spur helps blend the half chaps and the boots together")

When Chili and I were warming there were about 10 people in the ring also warming up and jumping. Chili was pulling me toward the jumps because there were other horses in the ring, and unlike at home when he's extremely slow I actually had to tell him to slow down. Towards one of the oxers in the warm up and held him to much towards the jump so he refused it and I almost fell off, but after that both of us were fine.

I was going to do four classes. Three jumping and one flat. My first course was okay. I trotted towards the green oxer, because I got nervous because that was the one that he refused at. My instructor told me that Chili trotted because I told him to (I didn't realize it) I didn't place in this one because I trotted toward that jump and there were also 9 riders and they only gave out 6 ribbons. To me my second course was my best one. After I finished my instructor was talking to me and she said that now I was actually riding Chili, instead of just being the passenger :] I got 5th place out of 8 riders. For my third jumping course I got 4th place out of 8 riders. My flat class went okay. Chili was really going fast and it was hard for me to keep his head low while trying to slow him down. I tried to get to the outside but there was no room =[ For the flat class I got 5th out of 9 riders.

My instructor was really proud of me and Chili, and I placed consistently, and got the right distances between the jumps and leads. Chili was fantastic, and I'm so proud of him. I thought that I would have placed better. Chili did great but I guess everyone else did even better.

I had great day and because of doing this show I have more confidence in myself when I ride.

Amazing! :D Very well done indeed. :) Great to see a rider who can asses their performance based off more than results - seeing as how you preferred your 5th place round to your 4th place round. Go Chili! He sounds like a super pony, and he is just far too pretty! ^_^
