SAHJA Challenge

well, I went to a show on Sunday, just for fun. I wanted to get Dancer over Rancho Murieta's jumper fences before I showed him on their rated circuit so that I could waste $18 rather than $60 should he freak out at one of their jumps.
It paid off. He looked at one, but I closed my leg and he took it anyway, which was nice. I was quite proud. We did the 3' Cloverleaf Medal class (i wasn't going to do it but my friend was in the class and she convinced me to anyway), the 3' - 3'3" Child/Adult jumpers, the 3'3" - 3'6" Training Jumpers and the 3'6" - 3'9" Training Jumpers. We placed 3rd out of 9 in the Medal amazingly enough. I never place in eq as Dancer is like SPAZ as soon as he see's the jumps. Then we placed 2nd in the Child/Adult as we pulled a rail in the qualifier but we were wicked fast and pulled the fastest time somehow even when I missed a KEY turn that would have shaved off another 5 seconds. Grr... And then Dancer had his spaz moment in the 3'3" - 3'6". We had an AMAZING qualifying round and we were at the LAST fence in the J/O when he saw the open gate, totally ran out of my left rein and ran out of the jump. I promptly spanked him, whiped him around and he proceeded to buck out at me, jump and then biffed it over the back rail of the oxer taking down the rail... Yeah... haha. Needless to say we placed 6th. Awkwardly enough, we still beat someone. I'd like to know how we managed that.
Then we had our 3'6" - 3'9". Another amazing qualifying round and a wicked fast jumpoff. We pulled one rail, but because of our time we came in 2nd once again. I was quite proud of him. He never flinched, didn't rush his fences, turned on a dime and rocked back when I asked him too. What more could a mother ask for.
OH! and I took Andy as well. He showed in a little open walk/trot class. Unfortunately he didn't place as he's never been to a show before, but I was so proud of him. He was at a huge show with tons of horses and ponies running around, loud speakers, a hunter ring full of scary yellow flowers and not to mention a crazy lady in a judges booth! My little guy didn't spook or look at a thing. He was a trooper. Halfway through his class he relaxed and finally framed up and moved out gloriously through his hip and shoulder. He had a hard time standing still in the lineup, but he's never done this before so I was patient and we waited until everyone was leaving the ring and he finally stopped, took a deep breath and stood still. Then he got to leave, walk around a bit and then eat his lunch and relax. He did very well.
I got some pictures of Dancer and I in the 3' Medal class as my friend's dad took some pictures. They left shortly after that so I don't have any of the bigger classes. I don't think the photographer was at our ring, but apparently there was one there so I'll check the website and if I find any i'll post them. |

Nadeh of Paint
Look who remembered her account login info (: Hehe. I was on Paint and I just noticed SAHJA at the top of the screen as I was scrolling down and I scrolled back up like whooooooo else rides SAHJA? And then I remembered that you just went to the show haha XD Which reminds me, I have to ask my dad about the show at Leone's. I won't be able to show, but we can still trailer Dance up there if he lets me borrow the truck. And then he said we'd probably be able to use the truck to go to the Starr Vaughn show on the 11th too. (:

When you lengthen your leg you bring your center of balance down into your hips and down through your legs allowing your upper body to move freely. When riding Dressage you work with a long, free moving leg. You're hips are rocked ...
