The Rocky Mountain Classic II is held once a year at Anderson Ranch in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. There are two types of competition Show jumping and Hunter, I competed in both. In the Hunter's I won 12 ribbons in total including a Reserve Champion ribbon. In the Hunters I won the class for the very first time!
Every day had pretty much the same routine Wake up, get dressed, eat etc. when we got to the show grounds we had to put corks in her shoes, braid and groom her, the tack her up and start warming up. Once she was warmed up my trainer would give me a jump to jump, then I would enter the grass Hunter ring and complete my round.
In the Jumper ring I went off course in the first round. The second round was a speed class and I got third and I fell off in the last class. I think I did very well in my classes but I kept losing to a pony that wins everything! That pony's name is Royal Tuscany. I think I did really well in the show, here is what I won:
Hunter: one first, 4 seconds, one fourth, 2 fifths, one sixth, one seventh, one eighth, and one Reserve Champion
Jumper: On third
The show was a great experience and I would like to do it again along with the other shows held at Anderson Ranch. If you haven't competed in any shows, you should look for local shows or ask for a fun day show at your barn. And when you finally do compete in the show… just have fun its not about winning the point is you were there!
Location: Anderson Ranch, Calgary, Alberta, Canada. |

Actually, your first show is about having fun... Then you win and it's all about winning. Me and my horse have that understanding, he wins - he gets a break. He loses - I train him hard, so he wants to win sohe can be turned out to pasture for a few days..lol

You did your BEST and you and your horse worked together and had FUN! Sounds great to me. Looking forward to hearing about more of your shows.
