Now for all those horse owners out there, there is a long controversy on blanketing horses in the winter. I blanket mine, but many of my friends don't. For those of you that chose the path I did, then I have a nice article for you.
Tough-1 makes many things, from blankets to bridle bags. Practically everything a horse owner will need. I have many of their items and I love them.
My favorite item I have purchased from them is my Zebra horse blanket. Their animal print blankets are heavy blankets and can withstand the rough winter. They are waterproof and come in four different patterns - Giraffe, Leopard, Turtle, and Zebra.
They usually come in sizes 69' -v84', but it all depends on where you look. At the time of this article they are selling for $79.99 at http://www.chicksaddlery.com
Tough-1 designed these blankets without a back seam to prevent leaking in the rain and snow. The blanket also includes fleece wither protection, crossed surcingles with elastic ends, adjustable leg straps with elastic ends, and a double front buckle. For the playful horses that like to frolic in the pastures, the shoulder gussets allow free movement.
To those who said you can't look good and be warm at the same time, Tough-1 proved you wrong.

I bought the zebra one (heavy weight) for my mare, Jaz, off of ebay for about $100 after shipping. I thought the blanket was amazing, but Jaz wasn't too thrilled about turning into a zebra in just a matter of seconds. The first thing she did on turnout the next was roll in a mud puddle, then roll in her poop when she got back in her stall. Within the first week, she had ripped one of the rings off where the hind leg straps clip on. It cleaned up nice the first couple times it was washed, but within a month or so, it already started to fade in the sun. Now about a year later, the black parts are completely brown, the white is forever stained with a tint of brown and has three giant rips on one side. I can definitely say that I will never buy one of these again. I'll rather go to my local feed store a buy another Wrangler blanket (her first one which lasted three years before she destroyed it) or order another Rider's International blanket from Dover Saddlery (going on three or so years

And to think both of those blankets are cheaper than her zebra one! The only pros I could really give it are that it has gussets so it allowed her massive, wide shoulders to move freely without ever getting rubbed -and- it kept her nice and toasty warm before she ripped the holes in it...
