My Boarding Facility – Parish Ridge Stables
 By Ms Grace   •   24th Feb 2011   •   6,747 views   •   15 comments
Located in a quite section in the Halton region of Ontario, Parish Ridge Stables offers fabulous opportunities for everyone of all ages and of all riding levels. Driving down the driveway, it’s clear that the owners (James and Natalie Parish) care about their equines as well as the people who ride them.

Boarder Barn

Boarding Facility – Parish Ridge StablesFixed with 2 indoor rings, 2 outdoor rings, a grass ring as well as many different hacking trails you’ll never be in a situation where you can’t find anywhere to ride.

PRS offers both indoor and pasture board, but with a wait list currently in effect for boarding; gives you an idea on the satisfaction. The boarder barn consists of 38 bright box stalls, a heated tack and viewing room, two heated wash stalls for year round bathing and 38 very large lockers that are more than ample for hold all you horsey equipment. All of the horses receive 3 daily hay feeds and two daily grain feedings. Night check and hay are given at 10 PM each and every night. Rates are not given on the website; however I do believe indoor board runs at about $600 and outdoor $200.

Riding School

At PRS they are focused on making sure that everyone understands and are confident. Group lessons contain only 5 kids and cost about $35/hour, semi-privates $50/hour, half hour privates $30/half hour (not including warm up) and hour privates $60/hour.

Instructors

PRS has about 5 coaches that work lessons through the week. All of their coaches compete on the Provincial Circuit.

“Our instructors all teach from a strong understanding of the fundamentals of proper equitation and flat work”.

I adore my coach and for the few months I’ve been there she’s helped me a lot with my riding.

Being a new student to Parish Ridge I honestly couldn’t be any happier with my decision to move there. I have been riding for almost 13 years and I have never experienced such a fabulous facility. PRS holds a no tolerance policy for “drama” and will simply not allow you to ride in your lessons if you are in a fight with someone, which is a relief for me after leaving my old barn for that reason. Here, everyone helps each other and is kind about it. Someone is always there to help you out and I have yet to meet one “rude” person at this barn. PRS is offering me opportunities that I could never imagine and I thank them for everything they’ve done for me so far.
