How To Add Rain To Graphics Using Photoshop
 By Artista   •   26th Feb 2011   •   4,700 views   •   19 comments
To create this tutorial, I used Adobe Photoshop CS4 on an Apple Macbook Pro, but you can create this same effect in almost any version of Photoshop or a similar graphic arts program with the same capabilities, such as Gimp or Pixlr.

Creating the perfect "realistic" rain effect in Photoshop is something I watch artists struggle with a lot - and I made this tutorial to show you that there is an easier way than painting all those tiresome brush strokes by hand. In this tutorial you can "cheat" a little by using some of Photoshop's pre-included Blending capabilities to help you along. The only thing you have to do is "add the shine" to make the rain sparkle and really come to life!

Realistic rain is a great effect which can be added to almost any digital painting or photomanipulation to give it that extra something. It's also so simple that almost anyone can do it, with no effort at all!
