Nerd Reviews: Riding Club Championship - Facebook Horse Game
|

We move on now my little cherubs to a game on Facebook. This game enables you (unlike the many others out there) to ride the horse. Now this game was available for download when it first came out. Sadly when I joined the site my computer had a really low graphic memory so I was unable to play it. As soon as I got my new netbook I logged into the site to find it had been moved to Facebook. I went onto Facebook and quickly became addicted to it.
This game is VERY flexible so if you are like me and have a slow computer then you can set the graphics to whatever level you need for it to run smoothly. I personally run it on the lowest graphics level so I can have fast gameplay, which is what you want in this game as the competitions are all about timing.
I shall start you at the beginning of the game and try to give you as many hints as possible. First of all, unlike in “My Horse Club” and “My Horse” you can choose what your horse looks like from the start. You are also able to choose its name and your rider’s gender.
As you go up each level you get 1 “skill point” which is used to add to your horse’s skill. The “skill points” can be added to whichever skill you want e.g. Speed, Endurance and obedience. These will all affect your competition performance.
The key to winning your competitions is all about timing and what skills you improve. When you aim your horse at the jump (space to jump, arrow keys to move) you will see a ring appear at the bottom of the jump. When this turns white press space and you will fly over the jump. Make sure you have plenty of practises in the Paddock with their fences and also in the “Play alone” section where you can practise over some of the courses. You are also able to change your tack and show gear without it costing an arm and a leg.
This game also has a grooming feature which is new to the game and on my computer VERY laggy. This reminds me of another game I had which is fairly old but the name has slipped my mind. You can comb the mane, pick hooves and groom its body completely. I’m not quite sure if the grooming effects your event score, but I am never sure of anything really so you will have to work that out for yourself.
This game is available so that you can play with your Facebook friends so make sure that you add some Ponyboxer’s as im sure they will LOVE this! Overall I would rate this game 9/10.
This game isn’t 10/10 because the grooming lets it down as well as the annoyance of that if your friends aren’t on regularly you will get bored because you can’t challenge them to a show jumping round. This game also does not have a way to get extra horses, thus it doesn’t have a way to breed them to produce foals. This game is a great time waster though and is definitely worth playing if you have Facebook.

I currently can only think of one other horse game I own at the moment, so if there are any more online ones or any that I can get on the phone or Wii, please tell me and I will see what I can do for the next review.
This is Nerd over and out. |

The only bummer is that it requires Facebook. That's the problem with so many games now, is that you have to log into Facebook for something or another.

This game is quite good! At first i played the downloadable version and it was awesome with the cross country and dressage features, but the facebook version is also enjoyable. It lags a lot when loading the entire game, but after the initial lag, it runs quite smoothly actually. Thanks for the review!

I remember RCC when it was first out for download, it was a fantastic game, it costed money per hour of play or something like that, then it became free, more members joined and they couldn't uphold the servers anylonger, I miss it now, I personally think its worse on Facebook, but thats my Opinion (:
