Bamboo Wacom Tablet

Computer Tablets are of major importance when it comes to making graphics. They are not essential many people make extraordinary graphics without the help of one. They're amazing if you're into web design pages, and especially the main focus of this article - graphic art.

Initally the tablet was designed for office work, signatures, notes, that kind of thing - not art. It can be used with editing programs such as Photoshop, Gimp, Paint. This is wonderful, being compatible with almost every program.

I love the smoothness of the tablet itself when I'm using it for digital/graphic art. It's a wonderful edition - you can erase background down to the very last pixel, you can redraw manes and tails, sign your name and personally write emails.

From my experience with my Bamboo Wacom Tablet, I've come up with a list of pros and cons.

Good Points:
The tablet surface is soft, very smooth.
Compatible with Macintosh, Vista, Windows, most computers.
No batteries, attached to a USB cable which runs to your PC.
Doesn't drain computer power (great with laptops).
Specific types of Bamboo tablet come with bundled software (Elements 5, Corel Paint Pro)
Come in funky colours. (Blue, pink...)

Bad Points:
Can react unexpectedly - or freezes.
Glossy finish needs regular "cleaning" if you want it to stay fingerprint free.

On the whole - the good points overweigh the bad, and I would HIGHLY recommend a Bamboo Wacom Tablet if you're interested in buying one. It's reasonably priced, especially if it comes with software. I've never had any major issues with it, other than ocassional freezing - but that's easily dealt with.

I have not tried other types of tablet, but from what I've heard, Bamboo for the win!

Image 2 is the same Tablet that I use. =D

I use the same one you do, and I love it! It's never frozen on me though :P I have a question though: Does anyone know if they still sell pens compatible with this model? It'd be great if you could message me if they do (with a link perhaps, but no link is alright too lol) :)
