The Queen of Show Jumping Wins In Paris
 By Winniefield Park   •   6th Apr 2019   •   66 views   •   0 comments

Beezie Madden continues to prove she is the queen of show jumping. Her second World Cup win at the 40th Longines FEI World Cup Final in Paris followed three days of competition with nearly faultless rides. She won both day one and two, and accrued only one fault on the second ride of the third day.

It’s been 31 years since an American woman won the final, that first honor going Katharine Burdsall (Heller) and The Natural in 1987. Madden, at fifty-five, is also the oldest woman to have won the title. She has been competing at the Grand Prix level since 1985 at age twenty-two.

Elizabeth (Beezie) Madden has represented the United States in four Olympic Games bringing home two team golds, a silver and an individual bronze and has competed in multiple world championships and international competitions. Perhaps her best known horse was Authentic, who took her to several World and Nations Cup wins.
