Wild Horses Harassed
 By Winniefield Park   •   22nd May 2019   •   97 views   •   0 comments
The life of a wild horses is not easy. There are a lot of dangers out there, natural as well as man made. In Arizona, an amatuer photographer caught video of a man she thought was shooting at horses in the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest reserve. The herd living on the reserve is protected, but since October 2018, over 19 of the 300 horses known as the Herber Horses, have been found dead, and 11 confirmed shot. Although the photographer has photos and videos of the shooter, the forest service considered the case closed when the man claimed he was shooting at a tree stump.

And on the east coast, Outer Banks Wild Horses are being harassed by dogs. Despite it being illegal for dogs to be off leash and for people to be less than fifty feet from the horses, authorities have been dealing with an increasing number of incidents. This, they warn, is dangerous for the pets, their owners and the wild horses.
