Horse Pulled from Debris after Surviving Tornado
 By Winniefield Park   •   7th Jun 2019   •   45 views   •   0 comments

As of May 30, 2019, almost 600 tornadoes have been reported throughout the midwest and Atlantic states. No thanks to variable weather, the tornado season has started early and hit hard, with many outside the traditional “Tornado Alley”. Severe flooding is also affecting areas along the Mississippi River and Oklahoma state. ‘With the material and human tragedy of this severe weather comes stories of livestock and companion animals being separated from owners and in some cases placed in precarious situations.

One man near Linwood, Kansas found his horse only a few yards from his property, but bringing him home wasn’t as simple as snapping on a lead shank. Rather, the horse, Zino, was found caught in mire, running water and covered in tangled brush. Rescuers spent two hours clearing the branches and getting a harness around the caught horse before it was freed. Now staying at a vet clinic, Zino is expected to make a full recovery from his ordeal.
