Southern Maine Women's Re-entry Center
 By Winniefield Park   •   15th Jun 2019   •   160 views   •   0 comments

There are so many ways horses enrich our lives and for women in the Southern Maine Women's Re-entry Center, learning to care for horses and spending time with them is an important step in changing their lives.

The women care for the horses who have been rescued from starvation and abuse, and this helps them build basic work skills while feeling good about looking after the horses. They muck stalls, groom, keep the stables clean and learn to handle the horses. Itís described as a win/win for both the horses and the women, as each help each other learn and heal.
