Montreal Carriage Rides End

After years of controversy the city of Montreal, Quebec, caleches, the quaint carriage rides through the historic city are banned as of January 1, 2020. The tourist districts will no longer hear the familiar clip clop of hooves as draft horses pull the decorative vehicles filled with passengers. There are those who feel, despite several incidents within the last few years that put horses in jeopardy, that a historical piece of the city has been lost. And, itís felt the compensation that calche owners are being given is a pittance considering the money invested in running their business.
