Prince Philip Funeral Horses and Kings Royal Horse Artillery
 By Winniefield Park   •   6th May 2021   •   484 views   •   0 comments

It seems no royal ceremony is held without horses and the funeral for the late Prince Phillip, the Duke of Edinburgh was no exception. The Kingís Royal Horse Artillery, the riders dressed in traditional black trimmed with gold and red, were part of the procession. Prince Phillipís casket was not carried in a traditional horse drawn hearse as one would expect, but by a specially modified LandRover. But the Dukeís favorite driving horses, the Fell ponies Balmoral Nevis and Notlaw Storm were in attendance hitched to their carriage, with the Dukeís driving gloves, cap and whip laid on the seat beside the driver.
