Meet the ModsWhat can I tell you about the person behind Santa Ana Ranch?

I’m an east coast girl transplanted onto the west coast. Originally born in New York, I have lived in Connecticut, Vermont and Massachusetts. I have been involved with horses for most of my life. Other then the ponies I am an avid singer, I studied music in college as a vocal performance major. I can read at least 3 books a week if I really tried but sometimes my schedule just doesn’t allow. In a few years I plan on going back to school to become a vet tech. My close friend’s father is a small animal vet and since the day I met him he has been telling me to become a vet tech, and in a few years I plan on following his advice.

In my real world I am a live in Nanny for my sister’s to kids, I am also their learning coach as they are home schooled in grades 1st and 5th grade, and let me tell you, I am NOT smarter then a 5th grader! I have had to learn so many things all over again. We have a small little farm over flowing with animals to be exact we have 6 horses, 1 donkey, 6 chickens, 3 dogs, 4 cats, 1 rabbit, 1 goldfish and 1 fire belly toad. I live in a zoo basically.

Those that have met me know I am insanely obsessed with the standardbred horse. In fact we have three off the track mares and if I had my way ALL out horses would be standardbreds. They are the underdogs of the equine world, over looked too often and under estimated. My dream is to have a large farm filled with off the track standardbreds and enhanced their training to be world known show horses, a big dream I know but this breed is more then capable.

Pacer MareMy “baby” is my 8yr old 17hh pacer mare, Grace of Monaco or Gracie. Gracie is my pride and joy she is my show horse, trail horse, driving horse and best friend. She is opinionated, obnoxious, demanding and stubborn. Just like me! I love her. We are currently training over fences and doing basic dressage and my goal is to take her to a low level event just to try it. I plan on competing in a few open shows in w/t greenie classes with her.

Our other two mares are, Wycked Victory, a 13year old trotter mare we call, Hazel. She’s the all around do everything mare. I teach lessons on her, show dressage and she is the main driving mare. We recently got a new 19yr old trotter mare named, Fizz Image or Fizz. She’s another been there done that type, she drives, is trained in dressage and used to be a show horse with her former owner. Our Non-Standies, are Victory Medals, a 5yr old off the track thoroughbred gelding, GingerBred Girl, a 7 yr old paint quarter pony, Sunshine, a 25yr old Shetland pony and the Queen Bee and finally our rescued donkey, Gizmo whom is around 2yrs old and will soon be going to his forever home at Peaceful Valley Donkey Rescue.

My sister and I are passionate about rescuing animals. We heavily support our close friend’s equine rescue called TIER (True Innocence Equine Rescue), we have rescued two donkeys in the last three years, and two of our dogs are pound puppies and our third my sister rescued from the canal near our house. Of our four cats, 3 are strays/rescues.

I love doing anything outdoors I am a big fan of camping and hiking, gardening and just taking a walk somewhere. I love to explore, sometimes my sister and I just hop in the truck and drive to see where we end up, and those are some of my favorite memories with my sister, us just exploring.

Something you might not know about me is that I am terrified of raccoons. They scare me and are evil! I am a fan of anything paranormal, my favorite show is Ghost Hunters, I can watch scary movies all day long accept for one, there has only been one movie to ever give me nightmares and to this day I still can not watch it without crying and that is The Shining.

I am a very goofy person, I love to laugh and make my friends laugh. I can be extremely random and have been known to frighten people with my randomness… picture me walking into a room with a lampshade on my head just to break the tension after a family fight. In my opinion being normal is boring. Be crazy, spontaneous and outgoing. It’s more fun that way.

I have been playing Ponybox since Nov. 2007, I am known on Morgan, Paint and PB3 as Santa Ana Ranch and on Nokota I am known as Kannassarago Ranch. You can call me, Santie, Betty or Nassa, I answer to all! I love being a moderator. I am a fair and fun person and I love helping new members out. I feel honored to be chosen to join the crew of robots… oops I mean moderators.

I LOVE YOU. Heh, not in a creepy way. XD Your horses are gorgeous! *drools*
I also love singing and camping (well, backpacking), and I may want to be a vet or vet tech someday. :) And, from what have heard, you also enjoy digital art, so hurrah!
